Bioinformatics
The AGRF Bioinformatics group provides data analysis support for many applications. Services include:
- bacterial genome assembly and finishing
- large clone assemblies (such as cosmids and BACs)
- SNP discovery including high throughput
- large scale primer design
- web-based EST annotation database
- semi-automated genome annotation
- primer walking and transcript reconstruction
- clustering and alignment
- gene expression analysis including Affymetrix, illumina, Agilent and Combimatrix
AGRF has also adapted its bioinformatics services to meet the needs of the next-generation sequencing market. This includes hybrid assemblies incorporating Sanger with GS FLX (454).
A key focus for AGRF's Bioinformatics service is to continue to expand its service capabilities as a means of addressing the everchanging client needs and requests. As such new services are constantly under active consideration.
