Senior Molecular Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Molecular Laboratory Scientist to join our team and provide technical leadership across a range of advanced genomics workflows.

As a Senior Molecular Laboratory Scientist, you will be a technical expert across complex molecular processes, supporting the delivery of high-quality genomics services while contributing to innovation, continuous improvement and the introduction of new technologies.

Working closely with laboratory leadership, you will help drive operational excellence, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, mentor colleagues and support the development of new services and workflows that deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality genomics services across multiple technology platforms, including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and emerging genomic technologies

• Analyse, verify and interpret complex molecular data

Advanced Genomics Services Scientist - Innovation & Development | Melbourne

AGRF is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Genomics Services (AGS) Scientist to join our Melbourne-based Innovation & Development (I&D) team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of genomic technologies, partnering with researchers and industry clients to deliver tailored, bespoke solutions that support scientific discovery and translational research.

As an AGS Scientist, you will independently deliver complex and bespoke genomic projects across a diverse range of research and translational applications.
You will work closely with internal teams and external clients to understand project requirements, develop and optimise workflows, troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver high-quality outcomes.

AGRF's Advanced Genomics Services include single-cell workflows, such as 10x Genomics, and chromatin mapping applications, including Hi-C, CUT&RUN and ATAC-seq.

Alongside hands-on laboratory work, you will contribute to the ongoing development of AGRF's service portfolio by evaluating emerging technologies, improving workflows and identifying new opportunities to support our clients.

Laboratory Assistant | Perth

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Laboratory Assistant to join our NATA-accredited laboratory in Perth.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional genomics laboratory and contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge genomic services, including Sanger Sequencing and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Working alongside experienced scientists and technical specialists, you will play an important role in supporting laboratory workflows, ensuring samples are processed efficiently and accurately, and contributing to high-quality outcomes for our clients.

In this role, you will:

• Receive, sort, register and track samples throughout the laboratory workflow

• Assist with routine molecular biology procedures, including nucleic acid extraction and quality control assessments

• Support template preparation for sequencing analysis

• Perform routine laboratory tasks in accordance with established protocols and quality standards

• Assist with laboratory equipment operation, maintenance and troubleshooting

• Maintain laboratory consumables and assist with stock management
