Congratulations to Our Winners – AGRF Free Lane of 10B Sequencing Giveaway!
/AGRF is excited to announce the winners of our Free Lane of 10B Sequencing Giveaway, celebrating the impactful work of researchers across Australia using genomics to drive discovery.
First Draw Winner: Nigel Jackett – The University of Queensland
Congratulations to Nigel Jackett from the School of the Environment, Research and Recovery of Endangered Species Group at The University of Queensland — the first winner of our sequencing giveaway.
Nigel’s research, in partnership with Owl Friendly Margaret River, is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species. Using AGRF’s Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services, his work aims to generate the genomic insights needed to support meaningful and long-term conservation outcomes.
We’re excited to follow Nigel’s work and see how this data contributes to preserving Australia’s biodiversity.
Final Draw Winner: Dr Huyen Phan – Curtin University
Congratulations to Dr Huyen Phan, Project Leader and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM), Curtin University.
Dr Phan leads critical research into septoria nodorum, a major wheat disease causing crop losses across Western Australia’s wheatbelt. Her work explores both the pathogenicity of the fungal agent and the genetic resistance mechanisms in wheat, supported by AGRF’s sequencing technologies.
“Sequencing is a crucial tool to help me answer many complicated biological questions. It provides the perfect complement to my wet lab experiments and reduces time and labour in our lab,” says Dr Phan.
We’re proud to support Dr Phan’s research and contribute to improving the resilience and productivity of Australian agriculture.
About the Giveaway
By simply requesting a quote for our NGS service, researchers were automatically entered to win a free lane of 10B sequencing on the NovaSeq X Plus, plus a 1-hour bioinformatics consultation with our expert team.
Our NGS service delivers high-quality, reliable data to power research across agriculture, conservation, medicine, and beyond.
Stay tuned for more opportunities and promotions from AGRF as we continue to support Australia’s research community through world-class genomics.
