Introducing our new SMRT Cell Program

Collaborative Sequencing Initiative*

 

We're launching the AGRF Collaborative Sequencing Initiative (CSI), a pooled SMRT cell program that provides access to PacBio long-read whole genome metagenomics at significantly reduced cost, without needing to fill a full SMRT cell. AGRF manages all pooling, scheduling and QC, keeping the process straightforward for your team. 

For metagenomic work, the difference long-read sequencing makes is substantial: 

  • strain-level resolution  

  • complete mobile genetic element and plasmid characterisation 

  • de novo assembly of novel organisms that short-read approaches simply can't resolve 

If your program has been generating short-read metagenomic data and hitting the limits of what it can tell you, this is the natural next step. 

We're running the first CSI cohort before 5 June with special pricing available for participating groups.

  3. Your signed quote acceptance and purchase order must be received before 5:00PM EADT 04 June 2026.

  4. Samples must be submitted before 5:00PM EADT 05 June 2026.

  5. Customers must be a resident of Australia or New Zealand.

  6. Customers must be employed by a university, medical research institute, publicly or government funded research institute or hospital.

  7. Customers must be registered on AGRF’s client portal (www.agrf.org.au).

  8. Costs associated with delivering the samples to AGRF are the responsibility of the applicant, as are any requirements to return the samples to the applicant.
