Genomics for Food Production and Food Safety

An ever increasing and wealthier population is driving higher demand for food production from ever more limited resources. Genomics is central to the creation of robust high yielding, nutrient rich, high-value products to tackle global food and nutrient challenges. We have partnered with businesses like Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) and ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space. We have worked on projects involving mushroom, cultured meat, fermented food and regulatory testing.  We have also provided services to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to support their work in biosecurity diagnostics.
